Supafly 2306

Having tested a range of motors the decision was clear – the Brother Hobby designed 2306 R5 was the right motor for Supafly. The 2306 size has noticeably more low end torque, which is ideal for freestyle, where pulling out of dives and other moves is common. Also the R5 design?is smoother and higher quality thanks to Ezo bearings and Titanium shafts, as well as being lighter at only 28g.

An important goal of Supafly is to bring quality at an afforable price, and although they are premium motors, we are selling them cheaper than anyone in the UK market to help get them to as many pilots as possible. The cheapest price is with a frame and only ?16.99, available when selecting options with the frame purchase…

Another benefit of supplying frames and motors together, is that it allows sharing of PID tuning?- and significant focus has been put into offering a great tune on each platform so pilots can enjoy a butter smooth and responsive quad. Many Supafly customers now say their build is the best flying quad they have had for this reason.

What KV?

2450kv is becoming the most popular freestyle kv because it is a good balance of thrust and efficiency. Opposite you can see the performance of this motor and I have highlighted the HQProp 5×4.3×3 which I recommend with this motor. 1338g of thrust at 30a and weighing 28g per motor – beat that!

2650kv is for those who want to go screaming fast, and because of the 2306 size it?has both top end speed AND low end torque.?To me these motors feel close to 5s performance on 4s, and as can be seen from a comparison opposite – on a 5x4x3 triblade they produce equivalent thrust at similar amps to the reknown Cobra 2207 powerhouse motor, yet it is 8g lighter per motor – a total of 32g lighter per build! I have found that using the original HQProp 5x4x3 V1s is awesome because it is a mild prop and so spins up super fast with screaming high RPM, and also is suprisingly efficient with flight times of 2m30s on a good 1500mah lipo…but if you want banzai power – go with the HQ 5×4.3×3 V1s…
