Supafly Pro Tuning is a low cost service to help any person get the maximum performance and flight feel from their drone
Whether you have purchased a ready built drone (which typically come with mediocre tuning) or built your own and want to get the max out of it – we can do that quickly and easily. As the feedback below show – customers often experience a significant transformation in performance.
Methodology
We have developed a unique approach which looks carefully at the PID response over the full throttle range.
Most tuning is done whilst hovering, and then the assumption is made that it maps over the full RPM range of the motors – but there are significant swings in control authority over the RPM range. We are able to identify pre-oscillation low level ringing at the control system crossover point over the throttle range. Being able to judge the onset of this ringing effect allows us to see where the optimal PID strengths and filtering levels are and optimise them, which is currently one of the most difficult judgements that need to be made in tuning.
The Customer Pro Tuning Process:
Once you purchase this service you will receive a download with instructions with how to proceed in setting up the drone and taking the first log. You then email that to us.
We reply usually on the same day with a text file which is loaded into the configurator. This changing the settings – and then the customer repeats the log.
Usually 2 – 4 rounds of this and the tuning is spot on. We include all the same tweaks (if you build can take it) that Supafly frame customers get.
Depending on how busy things are at Supafly this can happen over a few hours directly or a few days. The customer can take as long as needed – there is no rush and no pressure for perfection. We can guide you thought and solve any issues along the way.
The foundation of a great tune is great components (why we sell them). If the customer needs to replace any component – we can pause and re-start when that is fitted.
